Dr. Skowron grew up in Villa Park, Illinois and was the 2nd of seven children. He was a 1974 graduate of Willowbrook High School. He attended Western Illinois University, and received a Bachelor of Science in Visual Science. Dr. Skowron attended the Illinois College of Optometry from 1977-1981, where he received his Doctor of Optometry degree. He purchased his childhood Optometrist's practice in 1983, creating Skowron Eye Care.

Dr. Skowron has been a clinical investigator for various contact lens companies, served on numerous state committees, is a memeber of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and served as President of the West Suburban Society from 1995-2005. He regularly donates his time in helping the elderly and less fortunate.

Dr. Carr grew up in the state of Pennsylvania. He attended Marshall University where he earned a Bachelors of Science Degree studying Biology. Dr. Carr received his Doctor of Optometry Degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1990 while graduating with honors. Dr. Carr has been practicing Optometry at Skowron Eye Care since graduating Optometry school. He is an active member of both the American and Illinois Optometric Associations.

After growing up in Glenview, Dr. Lavender Streiff attended Augustana College where she received a bachelor’s degree in Biology/Pre-Optometry. She earned her doctorate degree and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Illinois College of Optometry. She completed a post-doctoral residency at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Hospital where she concentrated on ocular disease, specialty contact lens and low vision.

Dr. Streiff gives comprehensive ocular health exams to people of all ages at her current Elmhurst and Bensenville locations. She is also a part-time clinical instructor at the Illinois College of Optometry.

Dr. Streiff is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, the Illinois Trade Association and the International Optometric Honor Society Beta Sigma Kappa.
